In Which I Begin...

So. This will be an account of my second attempt at college. My first didn't go so well (engineers have no souls). Now I am a student at the University of Iowa, studying English and trying to find a place for myself. I don't really expect anyone to read this. I don't know if it will interest anyone (except perhaps my mother). But I think that this is a good idea. And I might be better at updating a blog than I have been at consistently writing in a journal. I intend to use this as both an expression of my thoughts and feelings and as a method of expressing my academic development. I think that this will mean, for the most part, that I will write about what I read. This has always been the kind of writing with which I have the most success. So that will be where I start.
